Private plate transfer question

I'm sure i've seen something similar the last couple of days but now can't find it,

I'm hopefully selling one of my cars tomorrow but it has my personal reg on it, I have another car ready to transfer this onto but not sure what paperwork i'll have for the new owner?

I know an option is to sell the car with the reg on it and then arrange with the new owner.

Anybody have any useful advice on this?

The potential buyer seems a decent bloke and the reg is of no use to him.
