Does anybody have any suggestions for the cheapest way of using mobile to mobile phone useage in Florida. Both me and my wife have have smartphones, but worried of running up a large bill using our phones to phone each other while doing separate things with the kids in Disney/parks etc. Any ideas welcome. Orherwise, should we just buy 2 phones on pay as you go while out there.

Out here at the moment and have thought about this issue. The only thing I can think of is to buy a pair of 2 way radios (not expensive)

Edit: forgot the range wouldn't be enough sorry.

Go into wallmart and buy a couple of prepaid mobile phones......can't remember exactly how much but I'm sure they were around $10-$15 each.

Just buy some local sim cards, probably the cheapest way to do it - might have to make sure that your normal phone isn't network locked though. It's what I'm intending to do in August, although I want one for data only.

If you know you'll be making lots of calls you could try a T-mobile prepaid sim.

I opted for the $60 sim as it allows me to make unlimited calls and texts to anyone in the US and unlimited calls to any landline back in the UK as well as limitless text messages to any mobile phone in the UK.

But as someone already mentioned for calls amongst you two, a couple of $10 sims would be ideal.

The calls aren't hugely expensive unless you're using it all the time, i always use mine in the USA. Its the roaming charges that rape you. I just turn off the 3G and its fine.
