My no brand cheapo BR player is on the fritz - so it needs replacing.

Its 2.0 and has 6ch decoder built in which I use to feed a denon 3803. Its plugged into a 720p panasonic plasma from a few years ago via HDMI (I cant see any current pany BR player on the NZ website with 6ch outs!).

Looking for something that doesnt take an age to boot up or load disks, that has 6ch analogue outs & possibly work with whatever system link the tv has..

Then I'll see if I can find the suggestions in NZ..

Edit :-
wifi +1pt
streaming audio/video +1pt
3d -1pt I dont want need or am interested in 3d movies...tho I suspect this will come as part of the player anyhow.

You'll struggle to find many that have more than 2 analogue outs now. Oppo would be the ones I would suggest.

Can you not just use an optical connection to the Receiver? Will give you a far greater choice of player then.

I've got a Panasonic BD-80 which has 7.1 out - is that the kind of thing you are after?

Is that not discontinued though? I think only the top of the range DMP-BDT500 now has multi-analogue outs.

It may well be - but surely later models would have as good/better - no?

Ah not on my phone now easier to type...

new plan A is buy a Panasonic DMP-BDT220 now for br playback, optical out to denon and it can stream video via network right?

Then add something like the Onkyo TX-NR515 or Denon AVR-1912 with some new rear speakers and possibly a sub later ( rears are gale 4's killed during earthquake, sub is a kef 20b which is old and not enough oomf for a UK house let alone my current one.)
