V12 hesitation at low revs in high gears.

On the way to Silverstone today I noticed a distinct hesitation when accelerating from low revs in high gears in my DB9. It has never done this before.

I toyed with different revs and gears and it was most noticeable from 40mph in 6th (1400rpm), usually I can dab a little throttle (not full) to accelerate smoothly up to around 55-60 but today at 1600rpm-ish the car noticeably juddered and generally hesitated. At any other revs the car is responding absolutely fine. The car has done nearly 9,000 since it's last service and it's 7 year 'the big one' service is looming in October. Given today's new development, I am thinking about bringing forward the service by a couple of months - especially as I have the Welsh borders trip coming up next weekend.

Is this problem likely to be any more severe than needing a service? After some experiments, I have more-or-less ruled out a slipping clutch (not even sure if the above symtoms can be caused by a slipping clutch).

coils maybe ?.....perhaps on our older DB9's we might start to see coil problems developing as per the V12 DB7's......would be interested to know what it is.....let us know

Throttle body needs cleaning?

Maybe a bad MAF.

Or could be a vacuum leak.

Probably not anything serious.

your probably right......its only a 30min job
