...ended very badly indeed!
Too much standing water at the exit of the toll booth and the car went 360° on the highway.
Fortunately, only cosmetic damages to be recorded.

But now, I am contemplating the damages and stop worrying about my winter activities.

Basically, I am looking at replacing the rear passenger light cluster (new type) and smoked glass.
Does one of you know where should I start looking for those parts?
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Philippe

Hi Philippe,

I would think the first place to start would be TVR Power.
Sorry to hear about your misshap. One little slip of concentration.
Hope its fixed up quickly.
Tony.

Could have been muuuuchhhhh worst than that!!!
Thanks for sharing my pain. In addition to that, if anyone can point me to a parts supplier where I could purchase what I need to put the car back in order?
Thanks and regards
Philippe

Hi Philippe,

Where are you based in France?

I am French, live in London and me too I went to Le Mans Classic with my Chimaera 500 (960 miles - 1560 kms without missing a beat except that the electric windows who did not work for about 5 minutes (was driving under heavy rain for miles and miles...) but the issue sorted itself out quite quickly...).

I have a friend that has 2 Chimaeras in France, a 400 and a 500 and he stuggled registering his 500 in France...

Good luck with getting your car repaired hopefully you will get it sorted quickly and without spending too much.

A bientot, Eric

There were a few damaged TVR's at LMC.

Also saw a pretty badly damaged 80's 911.

The track laps were VERY wet.

Very close to the German-Swiss border, half way between Mulhouse and Belfort. The 500 registration didn't cause too much pain, but that was two years ago, when the local authorities were still playing fair game. Now they have removed almost any possibility to import and register any car at all...Especially if the manufacturer has disappeared.

The repairs have started on the car. I have spent some time with my Dremel, carving the fiberglass splits, thinning the body down to almost being transparent and I am now in the process of rebuilding layers with fiber glass and resin.

I shall then fill-in the holes and reconstruct the damaged body parts before spraying the primer.

But, I'll let someone else do the painting....

More news to come.
