I hope you made it back to Bristol last night...

Your car was running very poorly when you started up, although I've never had one go, it sounded a little bit like a TP problem.. It definitely sounded as you left that it wasn't firing on all cylinders...

I didn't catch you name (sorry), I hope the AA were gentle..

Maybe see you at the S meet next week..

I've not had a mis-fire with the TP failing, it just doesn't send the correct signal for throttle positioning to the ECU I guess. I did get very poor running and similar to a mis-fire when the fuel pump was failing. Another part prone to failure on the S, which is usually caused by fuel starvation because the in-tank filter is clogged, so I'm told.

Kentish, sorry I cant remember the details of the TP thread, but I do recall reading in a few threads that your car was still juddering, like mine perhaps.

Ive only dont 20 mins driving since putting in the injector cleaner stuff, and it did seem that my car was about 80-90% less juddery. When I know if my car is leaking or not, I'll be able to decide whether to take it out for half an hour tonight... that might be enough time to get a better idea of whether the injector cleaning fluid I poured into the gas tank worked, or whether my intermittant juddering was coincidentally reduced after I put the injector cleaner in the tank.

Either way, if the car is still misfiring, why not give it a go, its only a few quid.

Cheers Rob, good idea if it works but I have tried 2 different kinds (supposedly strong) and there was little difference. These may have been more of a placebo than anything, you know the stuff with wonder claims and you convince yourself it's better and that £10 was money well spent.

What make of cleaner did you use, I'll give it a go?

Alright mate - I used STP. But, since yesterday, the juddering is back to normal again e.g. quite bad. No idea what happened yesterday, it just ... stopped juddering.

Strange, several of us seem to be having this problem and can't solve it.

I popped into Halfwits tonight and bought some spray injector cleaner that you spray up the intake after the plenum and I'm hoping this will sort mine but I don't think it's the only problem. I think a new set of leads and possibly replace the top air flow meter should sort it out.

If I find anything that may help I'll post here to let you know.
