Just doing a friend who's interested in this car a bit of a favour:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3712089.htm

Not a regular poster, so I'll ask instead - does anybody know of it? It's fairly local so I could always shoot over to Selby for a butcher's, but if anyone knows any history, it's always a help. The exhausts, interior and the daft V8 badge are acquired tastes, that much is certain, but easily sorted.

Been for sale for a few months Rob - looks like they've just dropped the price.

I nearly bought one that colour - not so sure the interior goes with it though.

I dont mind the purple exterior, but the interior is heavy going i would struggle with it, but what has been said an acquired taste, its great how individual TVRs are, something for everyone.

Hi

I looked at this one and was taken out for a ride it too.

I wanted to get a feel for an example needing work as i was looking for a good example. I expained this to the guys there and they were very happy to let me look round and go for a ride in it. (i also checked them out regarding servicing)

tbh in the flesh the colour combination works! in the pictures its awful!

I was told it belongs to a Belguim customer who doesn't use it, so they are selling it for him (that what i was told)

As far as i can see what you pay for you get!

Looked at it in late May.

The outriggers were rusty underneath, so i guess against the body they would be worse.
The engine had a bit of 'weeing' coolant directly under the engine area,
The paint work was average. I would be thinking paintwork needed,
Steering wheel worn & buttons rubbed off,
some trim internally needed re gluing,
Their was a bit of rough clutch pedal travel right at the bottom of travel.

It drove better than the first impression.

The guys there were very helpful.

If you're friend is mechanically minded and not afraid to get his hands dirty
and has some spar£££ for parts/repairs.

Then def worth a 'butchers'

Has your friend owned a TVR before?
If not has he done lots of reading up on here?
If no to both above I wouldn't recommend him viewing until he's done extensive research.

Good luck to you and your friend

I'd make sure someone who knows what they are doing has serviced it recently.

I love trade sale! if they sell to a private individual its not a trade sale and they are still legally bound. Whats it REALLY worth trade money?
The "trade" would probably bid £7-8k?

Not connected in anyway ,but this seems like a very good deal?!

Similar sort of colour as he (like me) like's purple
& it sounds like a pretty much up together car.

Back in 98ish time I admired one in this colour - it was at henly heritage and had Silk Cut as a number plate (somehow).
