Friend at work has just come into some inheritence from a grandparent. He hasn't exactly said the full amount but I think its between the 20-30k mark.

He is looking to use it as a house deposit with his girlfriend but this wont be for a year or 2.

In the meantime he is looking to invest it, to try and make a little bit of extra money.

What would be the best thing to do?

Savings Account?

ISA?

Anything else?

Exactly that. Use up ISA allowance. If any left over, stick in a 30 or 60 day notice savings account. Should get 3% ish at the moment. Ignore everyone who tells him to buy gold ingots.
