A 4.3 Speed Six in a Chim - that is good work.
Looks like a really tidy install as well
Certainly is a very tidy install, was looking at it when I dropped the Sag off for its 12K service on Saturday, if you didn't know it wasn't original you would not be able to tell. Bespoke airbox looked good with longer inlets for more torque apparantly and a lot of attention to detail to make it look good.Looks like a really tidy install as well
I spoke to Dom about this probably a year ago when they were just starting it. I think the owner has/had several TVRs and decided that he liked the Chim best from a practicality/looks point of view, but the Speed Six engine was his favourite. So decided rather than have a Chim and a Tuscan, why not combine the two... Seems like a reasonable idea to me. If that's what he likes best, then fair play to him for having his ideal car built - especially to that standard..!

Cant see the point myself if your going to that much trouble I would just fit a yank V8
why have 6 when you can have 8 ? IMHO of course
The speed 6 cars are all better looking than the Chim anyway's so just buy one of those
I am with you, it seems a strange engine transplant to me? there are so many other TVR models with a speed six engine in it & not many with a V8, is the speed six more reliable than a rover V8 then?

Its each to their own obviously, but a chim should be V8 powered in my eyes.

I know I should not take this point seriously, but I've been pondering this myself often - if I were to move on to a more 'modern' take on the Griff/Chim's theme the Tamora would be the only place to go, and while it has been growing on me, it's not as pretty as either is it?
Surely they would have sold a lot more of 'em, had they simply built on the Chimaera/Cerbera bloodline when effectively replacing their ragtop sports cars (the bread and butter of their '90s range) with something based on the Tuscan chassis (which had a useful extra 3" of wheelbase which according to one of the classic mags Neill Anderson said the Griff should have built on from the start instead of just copying the S' wheelbase) - not unlike Wiesmann (they all look more or less the same, but later models are dimensionally a lot different from the MF3 and earlier models).

Funnily enough that's what I thought at first but then I realised that it was being replaced by a 100% TVR engine, far more unique than an RV8.
Will be odd though to hear.
I'm not a big fan of the S6 as you probably know. Sounds like a bag of spanners to me, much prefer the RV8.Will be odd though to hear.

As smooth as the straight 6 in my BMW.

I know I am going to get blasted for this but they sound bloody awful too not unlike the BMW M six,
just my cents worth chaps
Each to their own as the world would be a boring place if we was all the same
