Please help identify this hose leaking oil
Discussion
Does anyone know what this hose is that is leaking oil? Car in question is my 1999 mark 2 Seat Toledo 1.9 Tdi. I took the engine cover off and noticed the leak. Is it something that requires immediate attention or can I drive it for the moment? I don't think it's a big leak - I've not noticed any oil on the floor.
Any help appreciated.

As above, nothing to worry about - just a breather hose as stated.
It carries basically air that's displaced in the engine as a result of the pistons moving up and down - the air being pushed down with the piston on each stroke has to go somewhere, hence the top of the engine has a hole with a breather hose to allow this air to move away.
Within that air though is also a 'mist' of oil vapour - so the hose is connected to the engine's inlet to recycle the vapour.
So when the breather hose gets a bit tired, as yours has, you'll get a bit of oil mist / vapour leaking out.
The fix in your case is to buy a jubilee clip of the right size for that hose, and clamp it round the hose where it plugs onto the inlet, where it's leaking.
Job done, and one beer token earned for you
