Luckily, the pro-driver stopped it rolling.

Funny how they are complaining about safety when there's a guy stood at the end of that lane change test with a tripod. He would have been squashed flat if it had rolled over.

Do people really do that when they see an Elk/Moose in the road or do most just slam on the anchors?

Ahh... A-class syndrome smile

Mercedes spent a fortune fixing that, I somehow doubt that Jeep will bother to do the same. hehe

Very impressive driving, it is surprising that a modern car can do so badly in that test.

Thanks to this thread, I went on a YouTube crawl and found this:

It doesn't really matter on Swedish roads anyway, where would you swerve?

I think the whole "moose" thing is taking it a bit to literally. hehe

It really shouldn't be possible to make a car fall over on a flat piece of tarmac.

And I was wondering what harm can a mouse do to a Jeep...

Jeep are now saying the car was deliberately overloaded to cause it to fail the test!

Interesting to see the Citroen Xantia with active suspension has clocked the fastest pass time through the Elk test.

Too many of those type of roads being built. I've had one close call with a moose, and it was on just such a road. The thing had managed to get inside the 'viltstängsel' - the roadside fences that are meant to keep larger animals off the road, and I saw it wondering down the road as I reached the brow of a hill. I had nowhere to go. It started to run down the road away from me and I almost managed to pull the car up in time. I was inches from the middle wire, on the left of the car and just drew level with the moose, on the right side of the car, as I slowed down. It kicked the front passenger door as I stopped and it continued running down the road. Bloody big thing ! I'm happy it didn't land on the bonnet I can tell you !

Yeah but it's not really a car, is it? It's a 4WD SUV with a stupidly high COG.

All of the other modern SUVs on sale can do it without falling over.

Other comparable ones can do it no problem at all.

Unbelievable that vehicles are let out there that won't be able to cope with this maneuver. That Citroen Nemo is just as shocking! Presumably Fiat spec their own suspension on it, as it passed without problems.
