What should I have done ?

Was driving to my parents in Bucks last night on the A40 about 17:45. I saw what looked like a car having gone off the road into the grassy area between the A40 and the sliproad coming off. Naturally I slowed down to make saure all was OK and saw 2 kids about 15/16 jump out, get their bits'n' bobs and jump into another yellow (chaved up panda like) car with a couple of other mates. Naturally it crossed my mind - Was this a stolen car that was now being dumped or were they being picked up legitimately.

Driving back this morning and car is stillthere with a police aware sign on it.

What should I have done as I had no hands free to make a call and there were 4 of them, so stopping to ask questions wasn't an option. Identifying would be no good as I didn't get a good enough look but I would recognise the pick up car if show.

Nothing you could have done if you had no phone. I certainly wouldn't stop and ask what was going on if there were 4 of them.

Other than memorise the plate of the other car and make a report to the BiB not much more you could do

If you have a good description of th eother vehicle, and even better, have it's plate as well, then I'd pop into your local cop shop and do your civic duty and report it.

Also, you may not be able to identify the occupants of the car, but presumably you would be able to give some information like number of persons, gender, skin colour, etc.

Will probably get filed somewhere and never looked at, but at least you'll feel like you've done something.
