Hi all.

If I win the auction, I have a Saxo to collect. The problem is that it has no keys. Can you break steering locks? I know you could in the old days, but not so sure now?

Thanks

How far are you planning on towing it?

Don't break the steering lock, unbolt the column assembly from the dash and just turn it with the wheel.

Unless it's a braked A frame, are you aware that's illegal ?

In theory it's a doddle, in practise it can be somewhat harder.

Take a dremel or a sharp chisel and remove the ignition barrel (which contains the lock)

Anything over 750 kgs must be braked - I am sure a Saxo is over that!!

If any of the wheels are on the road surface then it musy be fully legal - tax, ins, MOT etc

My advice - put it on a trailer as it then becomes the 'load' and not a 'vehicle'
