Not wanting to confuse cool and good, as for instance, BMW make some great cars but I wouldn't consider them to be a cool manufacturer. Lets keep it fairly recent (the last 10 years) as well because Peugeot don't really make cool cars any more, although I'm sure some people would argue that 205/306 GTis were cool.

Here are some that I feel meet the criteria:
Fiat 500
Renault Megane (Sport Hatch? The 3 door one!)
Volvo C30
Peugeot RCZ
Skoda Yeti
Skoda Fabia vRS (green)
VW Scirocco
old-shape Audi A8
Audi TT RS (probably the least cool Audi but the mouthwatering spec exonerates this one for me)
Audi RS (up until the previous RS6)
BMW 7-Series (E38) - not sure if this falls into the less than 10 year old premise (personally, I think most old BMs are cool - 2002, CSL, E28, E30, old 6-Series etc).

So what cars do you consider to be cool despite the brand not being very cool?

It isn't cool now for various reasons, but the original Impreza turbo when new, and perhaps even more so as a Q car the Legacy of similar spec.

Saw one of these on my way back to the office, photos don't do it justice, great looking for a modern car!

I don't hink Nissan fits the uncool manufacturer though.

I like the look of the KIA models like the Sportage

I forgot to mention the Suzuki Swift. Good shout. I would probably agree on the Kia Sportaga as well!

A VW Scirocco is cool?

I don't get this thread or how are we defining cool - are we just listing cars we like?

I suppose it's opinion, if you think it's cool then post it.

Ok, cool.

I go for Mk Ford Focus - it had no right to handle as well as it did from a manufacturer who until that point were churning out automotive trifles.

The Mk1 Mondeo, facelifted Fiesta and Ka did much to change that image before the Focus.

In particular, how they managed to transform the Fiesta handling-wise shouldn't be underestimated.

I'd vote with you on the Mk1 Focus, though based on it being light years away in every respect from the car it replaced, the Escort, and shaking up that sector quite visciously.

ETA: let's not forget the Puma either.

Cool Fords from the last decade and the Puma is the one that gets shoe-horned in behind the Mondeo, Fiesta, Focus and KA?

Not the GT then?

Or the last couple of Mustangs?

And the VX220 is a lightly reworked Elise. Doesn't stop them from being Vauxhalls. smile
