Had the Astra lowered a bit...
Discussion
Looks a lot better. My folks have that shape Astra and it looks like the body is perched on the wheels.
Have you told the insurance company? I looked at a car for my mates son which was lowered and otherwise standard (it had VXR alloys on). The insurance company would not quote on it because it was modified!
I would therefore hazard a guess to say if they will not quote, they also are unlikely to pay out due to undisclosed modifications in the event of a prang. Don't know how old you are but he is 21. The £1200 quote was for an unmodifed Astra and it is a 1300cc diesel!!

must make the world of difference to the handling
any further plans?
I had a mk4 astra (on standard suspension) a few years ago and it was the worst handling car i've ever driven!
Not really got any further plans... Bigger brakes, maybe? I'm not sure if the power it's putting down (200bhp) really justifies it though, for the most part. The handling is so much better though - It always felt a bit uncomfortable on long motorway bends before because the car sat so high! Now it feels alot more planted and it's pretty wicked in corners now, for a road car.

I thought about getting the Vauxhall "XP" kit put on it to make it look a bit more beefy - But I'm not sure if it's really needed on this car. The coupes look a bit lost without it but I think the five-door looks alright, and it's ALOT of money for what it is.

same here! Looks good chap, I too was surprised how much dropping by as little as 30mm can alter the handling!
