Flatbedding for servicing.

When I was buying my car, I noticed a couple of Astons arrive on the back of AA trucks.

I know that they are probably broken down but I did wonder whether some people would flatbed their car for servicing to keep the miles down and whether it was worth it.

I have heard that some luxury marques will pick up your car for you on a flatbed if you desire. Not sure if this is the case with AM?

Anyone have experience of this?

Anything you want is an option - when I had mine done at Reading they came and collected it from central London and then delivered it back. Extremely professional service, though this was a driver, not a flatbed.

Bamford Rose have collected my car from London as well, the option is always there but of coure you're taking someone's time and therefore it costs. The flatbed will add to the costs a fair bit I would say...

Works Service always pick up on a covered flatbed. I would say it depends on your car. If you use it every day an the miles added on for driving it to/from a service is only a small percentage of the total mileage of the car it's not an issue. If its a garage queen or collectible car then the additional mileage might affect the value.

Always had mine collected - for servicing or warranty - by Wilmslow or JCT Leeds.

No extra charge.

Drove to Rick's for my 2nd service and had a nice day shopping with Karen

I'm in Plymouth. My DB9 is collected and returned from service at Cheltenham in an enclosed lorry.
Cost £256.
Reasonable I think.

If you buy from Murray Motors in Edinburgh, they will pick and and deliver back for the length or time you own the car. Driver is a top chap as well!

My car was collected by a covered flat back for service when I used Aston Service at Beamish. This was offered as part of the service and I accepted not because of the miles thing (13 miles away from my home) but because it was convenient to me. I collected it myself so I could enjoy the drive home even though redelivery was offered.

For my main dealer (3 miles away from my home) they will collect it if I ask them to, but by driver, but usually I am able to sort out a lift so not a problem.

Stratstones in Cardiff collected my Vantage when it had to go back to get the tracker to work.(I'm about 100miles away) Had the joy of a Honda Jazz for a few days - not!

The chaps at HWM in Walton-on-Thames pick up and return my V12V on a covered flat-bed for each service. I'm usually out of the country, so driving it in and getting a loaner is never an option for me. All part of theIr excellent service.
