touch up paint for S3 1990

Hi All,tried search but - looking for touch up for S3.code under bonnet relates to sapphire mica blue metallic.(P422-0509b) contacted a touch up paint co. who sent out a sample.it came up too purple!when tried on car so they sent out another mixed to Nissan 124.tried again but still doesnt look close.are the codes under bonnet normally correct to the paint applied (note looks original) and are there any other codes for this colour i could try? thanks in advance dave

Hi, Sapphire Mica Blue P422 - 0509b is the same colour as my S3c. Nice to know there is another one.

This is an old post of mine (seven down from the top) and Nissan 124 is the correct colour. Being Mica its a bit disconcerting at first because you think that the colour is wrong. The real colour is only apparent when the final lacquer coat goes on. In the pictures below the 'hood' is the Nissan 124 without the lacquer on! Looks completely different to the lacquered rest of the car doesn't it. I'd strongly suggest you try a sample piece on something other than your pride and joy to satisfy yourself that you've got the right paint.

show the Nissan 124 on my model S. The colour is a bit misleading as the flash is striking the model full on so appears a bit lighter. Like I say it's as close as I've got.
