Nice ! Looks identical to the one I have found.
Was it grey originally ? Petrol 4 Cylinder ?
And photos of the Dash etc ?
Chassis plate should be fixex to the right hand A or B post .

Been told that the French electricity board used them and other Utility Cos as so much of France is rugged terraine.
Not sure if the French Army had them, but they did have The Simca Marmon MH600 Unimog copy.

Where did you find your one ?

I have no idea what the original colour was. It seems many of these were originally French Army ambulances.

Saviem were bought by Renault as their truck and bus building offshoot, and the name eventually died in 1980 when it was renamed Renault Trucks.

She is a 2.6 litre 4 cylinder petrol. I'm informed that 12 months ago the owners retro - fitted a diesel fired passenger compartment heater and this works brilliantly.

Very pleased with her. I found her for sale locally via word of mouth. It was being used by a syndicate shoot and had been converted by http://www.gunbus.co.uk/ for that purpose some years ago.

That Co you mention were bringing in Simca Marmons from France as well back in the late 90s. I nearly bought my SM from them.
The Saviem that I found has also been used by a shoot, seems that many shoots are folding now.
Heater sounds a great idea ! Will make a fantastic Canper , ideal for exploring the wilder spots of Europe with ! I've always wanted to do something like that.

There are some good shots of these on Google images.

Funnily enough the first thing I thought when I saw her was that I wouldn't have to take my tent to Le Mans this year hehe

On those tyres though she really starts wandering at 70 kmh yikes

It suffered a fire in the engine bay a couple of years ago. I spent a year sourcing parts, but the engine never ran happily again.

I sold it for spares after replacing it with a Leyland DAF personnel carrier.
