Tracker hmmmm

My car has just been collected by truck to have some bodywork 're done' and the driver asked if I had advised Tracker. I had not, and here is an extract of the phone call that I then made:-

" My car has been collected and will be away for 3 days
(Tracker) OK , What is the reg and your name.
(me) Name given and reg number
(Tracker) Ok, we have made a note , thanks , bye
(Me) One moment young sir, the info I have given would be available if I had in fact just stolen the car
(Tracker) Ok , fair point. What is the pin number?
(Me) I haven't a clue
(Tracker) Ok, Bye............

I had dodgy tracker fobs and was forever getting Tracker calling me to state that the Tracker had been activated. At the time I did not carry a mobile with me so when returning home I had messages left on home phone. Called them back every time they asked for my reg number and PIN which I could also not rememeber so they asked for my postcode....job done.

Just for the thieves out there postcodes can be found on the Royal Mail web site and the reg number is on the front and back.

I now have my mobile as my Tracker fob.

Astonishing! Good report - was this Aston Martin Tracking or Tracker themselves?

They always ask for a PIN from me and always agree a time and date to call back and confirm whether to take it out of service mode.
They have always called when the car has started and the phone not been linked to the tracker
They have also called when the dealer disconnected the battery




One thing they did point out is insurance companies may void a claim if it is in service mode

I've had the same experience with AM Tracking/Eurowatch when putting Tracker into service mode. Then I got a text 15 mins later to tell me the car was moving...
