D7000 any reason not to?

So now have some cash burning a hole in my pocket - enough for a D7000.
Bit of an amateur but planning to learn, now is there any reason to go for something like a D5100 or D3200 over the D7000.
Apart from the cost difference (happy to pay for the D7000) would I gain anything from starting off with one of the others and after a while would I want to upgrade whereas the 7000 will "future proof me"..

From what I've heard of the D7000 you'd be nuts not to get one. It sounds like a great entry-level camera with a pro-level sensor.

Have one of the Panasonic TZ - it has some manual functions but not enough. Used to have a film SLR and want to get back into it.

In that case, the D7000 will be more than enough to keep you happy! Just remember to leave some money aside for a decent lens or two.
