We are having a thunderstorm in my area at the moment, tonight my car alarm has gone off 5 times

Not coinciding with Thunder or lightning though in fact it was quite calm when it happened

So can a change in air pressure mess with car alarms? Its a standard Mazda fit btw

Yes.

Our Clio 182 alarm used to go off if it was a particularly cold night and the temp had dropped quickly.

I put it down to some sort of air pressure thing.

Some car alarms used to go off when the aircon was on full and then the car was shut off and left to warm up fast.
