Mercedes coupe with fins. What was it?

Coming home from Goodwood FoS the other week we passed a classic Mercedes, I'm going to guess at late 60's early 70's but could be miles out. It was a two door four seater and it had big rear fins.

It was bloody gorgeous in an imperialistic imposing way. Any idea what it might have been?

280se 3.5 coupe? They had sort of fins on the back (called the w111) can't be arsed to look for a pic as on my iPhone

I thought they were bigger fins, but might be wrong.

In my mind it was more rounded around the C pillars, but that's along the right lines (and gorgeous!)
