Oh maan, really?
I really thought peeps would say 335i. I've just put a deposit on a 335i. I had been looking at c4s's in preveious years but they were out of my price range until now.
I'm wondering if i'm not as attracted to them because they've 'aged' a bit.
I might need to go look at one in the flesh again b4 Sat because that's when I have to make up my mind.
Anyone else care to chime in please do and don't for it's not just about the aura's it's also about 'living' with, running costs etc.

@V88Dicky. How could you tell
Good one.
I'm pushing the boat out and I know that both are pretty expensive to run regularly anyways (with a heavy foot) but I'm kind of assuming that the ownership costs of running the Porsche would be higher based on research on Porsche owner sites.
For instance I read on a 911 site that you should allow for up to £2000 per year for running and in case of any unforseen problems with a 996 Porsche!?! It was specifically aimed at the early 3.4's but it wasn't just concerning the engine.
Has anybody here actually owned both or driven a good few miles in both to be able to say why, which incidentally nobody has yet so i'm assuming views so far have been based on looks an (possibly) driveability?

Just felt I had to close this one off as I hate seeing threads started that leave the outcome unanswered because the thread starter left as soon as they got what ever they were asking about without informing the rest of us of the outcome.
I paid a visit to my local Porsche garage on Friday. The long and short of my conversation with the sales rep was that although the Porsche is indeed a fantastic car to drive (and I quote) "you'd struggle to get four adults into a cabriolet due to leg space and definitely would struggle to get anyone over 5' 7" in the rear seats of a coupe. Enjoy your BMW."
I was actually a bit upset by it but TBH I plan to have the car for a good few years and although the majority of the time it will just be me or me and the missus I will have family and friends in there and couldn't go with my heart on this occasion. Wish I'd had the money a few years younger
Have since been to the BMW garage and will be in receipt of an e93 335i on Thursday having test driven my chosen one. Can't say enough how great the car is as well as being practical.
Thanks for all your input.

It sounded like you'd already made your mind up before posting (you'd put a deposit down on the BMW for starters!), so were a bit disappointed when every response was that the C4S was the better choice! I can see it will have more space but a far less special car and I suspect it will cost you more to run once you take depreciation into account.
Anyway, enjoy your new car - good to hear the outcome to these, even if they bear no relevance to the opinions given

On the contrary JohnnyBv8.
I'll tell you exactly why it was that I was disappointed with what the Porsche salesman said.
When I was stood in the BMW showroom I was like, "These cars look really nice. Showroom shine and all that... bla bla bla, i'm sold".
Now when I was in the prsche showroom I was like, "Daaaaaang, I am in the presence of something on another level"
My disappointment came because ten years ago I would have worked my life around the car. Ten years on it's just not practical to do so (comitments, marriage
).
In regards to being unhappy about the reasons given for buying the Porsche over the BMW I specifically asked about cost of running, living with etc. None of the responses really addressed this, the best, in fact being yours regarding depreciation which will probably come true come resale time. Sorry if the post was misinterperated by anyone and I do concure that what is right for me today will certainly not be right for many others here.
Cheers
