buy newer and better or keep older and spend?

i have the chance to buy another car exactly the same as i already have with much fewer miles and lots of work done on it and i can get it for a really good price, but when i buy the new car, i will have to keep the original car , or take a big loss on it. so, should i keep my old car and allow to spend on it in the future, or go for the much lower, better condition newer car which will not need any work in the future or keep them both.
