Canon 300D wanted
Discussion
Thinking of going digital and going for a Canon 300D body.
Have various EOS fit lenses from my Canon 35mm days so makes sense staying with the Canon make.
Anybody getting bored with their 300D and wanting to upgrade to a higher spec Canon? If so, could be interested in buying a S/H 300D body. Obviously must be A1 condition, no track days etc etc!
Anything out there or any opinions on the 300D?

I have the 300d and I still love it.
I use the extra battery pack with mine so it doesn't look as toy town.
The silver colouring is the only thing i'd change on mine now after the firmware has been tweaked
canon should have made it BLACK, black always looks classy and expensive
i was going to move mine on in favor of the 10d's replacement, but as the 300d exceeds my skill level, i can't justify it.

Indeed, but it was aimed at the 'silver' brigade. Marketing and stuff you know.
However some masking tape and a can of satin black aerosol should fix it. All you need then is a D70 logo to stick on

only me said:Very, very pleased with mine. Just considering the 10D, after having used one for a little bit. But looking at the relative price differentials for a 2nd hand sale of a 300D vs. a new 10D (plus getting a lens for it) is just too much at the moment. Have decided to keep the 300D and save for the lenses I want.
Me too! been looking at 300 for a while, anybody bought one & not happy with thier's ? or is it thumbs up from everybody who's got one ?

Luca - Good news for me as I have just taken the plunge and bought a 300D.
Bad news for you
- price was £565 for the body!! Must mean a new model due out any day.
Thanks for your advice a while ago.
Can really recommend www.pixmania.com. Ordered it yesterday - it arrived midday today.
Won't be venturing into Dickheads in the High Street anymore!
Cheers

Oh bu66er, I had been thinking about posting a new topic asking whether I should upgrade my 300D. I have been trying to tell myself that I'd be better spending my money on some good quality glass. However I am very tempted to trade up. Aaaaaaaargh. ![]()

On the subject of buying lenses
these look good
www.17photo.com/support.asp
and since the $/£ is favourable at the moment they
would also be very cheap even if you get stung for the vat.
iirc canon offers an international warranty. I haven't bought yet but looking into getting a 100-400 or possibly the 70-200.
