Banger Rallies

Has anyone here taken part in one, if so which and was it an enjoyable experience?

The Rust2Rome (Edinburgh to Rome) rally has recently been run and it stirred interest, however having looked into it with thoughts of taking part next year the enroute accomodation is camping and I don't do camping, have done but not any more.

So any advice on a well run banger rally with 'proper' accomodation that I could prepare to take part next year would be appreciated.

BTW I would be doing it with a mind to making some cash for a cancer charity as well as having fun.

I am actually organising a banger rally myself, with the first one being in September this year and planning to run a couple more next year, and when i looked into doing it i found that people have all sorts of different expectations when it comes to accommodation so we have decided to let people book their own accommodation, as then they can book what suits them best. We have organised a couple of discounts with places, but that was just out of courtesy really.

Feel free to check us out if you want, the name is Random Rallies, but there are a few rallies out there so you have a good range depending on what you want It's all good fun at the end of the day and a great way to see Europe and beyond depending on the rally! I'm sure looking forward to it Even with the stress of trying to keep everyone together :P

There was a thread on PH earlier regarding a fund raising rally of some kind from Blackpool to Benidorm taking place in September.

Can't find the thread now which is annoying. Seemed like fun whist raising momey at the same time.
