I've been thinking... an Egg McMuffin for breakfast, a Big Mac meal with Coke for lunch and another for dinner should leave me feeling healthy and athletic-like. I assume this is possible because McDonalds and Coca Cola are sponsoring the Olympics...

Was there not once a fella that tried a 'Macdonalds diet', eating nothing but burger and chips etc from there every meal, and his body started to shut down after something like two weeks?

Supersize Me? He ate Supersized versions of everything and became very unhealthy. It's a bit biased. Had he gone for McSalads, he'd probably have got a better nutritional intake. (The McSalads are the dust-covered packages at the back of the fridges.)

The McSalad? I used to ask for them but I swear they looked at me like I'd asked if I could fk their manager in the toilets.

When I was younger and was involved in the National Young Athletes League for athletics it was also sponsored by McDonalds. If you got athlete of the match in any of the compeitions that year (by doing a national standard in your event) then the prize was a card that got you free McDonalds for a year - however it was limited to one visit per day and only a standard meal.

I always thought that was an interesting reward given it was supposed to be encouraging young athletes to be involved in a sport and lead a healthy and active lifestyle!

They knew what they were doing though as the best athletes were the ones who won the awards but by the very nature of being that good didn't tend to eat much crap so never used the prize. And the ones who were a bit fat and not very good (and the target market for maccy d's) would never win it anyway!!

Most amusing. Bit like the Cadburys promotion a few years ago.
Where you had to spent over £100 in chocolate to get a £3 volleyball.biggrin

Of course athletes all consume McDs, Coke and Heineken, the official sponsors of the Olympics.biggrin
