I know most of you prefer the series 2 and 400 body shell, but for me you can’t beat the clean lines of a 280 Series 1. Even the 350 front spoiler err spoils the lines in my opinion.

This one is on e-bay at the moment and it caught my eye. How nice is that?

It is a good angle and the wheels help.
The '80s were a time of power-dressing, padded shoulders etc.: wings, spoilers and dams were all the rage so you can hardly blame PW for following fashion. At least the 'go' went up to match the 'show' biggrin

The rear under-wing of the 390SE is the bit that tickles me. I've often thought about putting mine on linear slides and using an air-ram to extend it out the back of the car just to wind-up the Max Power brigade hehe

I like the early models the most as they have cleanest lines...

I love the early series 1 & 2..Although i have become fond of them all now..But if im totally honest the best shape for me is not a wedge..But it is a TVR..If i could i would also have a MK1 Grantura or a vixen but with a big asrsh V8...smile

Had two Vixens, I do like them still and wistfully brows the classics, but then for me the the ultimate shape is the Muira but there we are.

My favourite would be to pick and mix. By that I mean the series two 350 body and bumpers with the standard front spoiler, a 400 series bonnet with the two vents and the SEAC spoiler on the back. The wheels would be the highly polishes OZ and the engine a highly tuned 450cc preferably by V8 Developments with gas adjustable shocks all round. This to me is the perfect combination for a Wedge. It would be the ultimate posing machine not to mention the superb drive. I could live in that! and if the Mrs gets to hear about my ideas I might have to.

For me its has to be a SEAC, the angles are smoothed making the car much easier on the eye, it's also very aggressive which i think suits the car very well and that rear spoiler,. well its a work of art

The story used to go around that TVR used a Mini door as the mould for the tea-tray biggrin

I prefer the Zender as used on the 390SE. In profile it adds a bit of a kick-up to the rear end that suits the lines far better than the droopy plank of the 400SE. IMHO of course wink

Hi

Yes Steve The speed eight was a great looking car, shame it was anounced at the same time as the Griff. If it had been a year earlier then we may have seen some made!

How many prototypes did they make? Do any survive? One of those would be a great addition to your collection Mr Tank.

I would love the Speed Eight it was a 2+2 as well!
