What brakes you running Grant - AP Grooved?

Ap groove and ferando ds 3000. All round. And motul rbf 660 fluid. Just to try keep the temp down a little bit when pushing on, on track

Looks neat. THought about re-doing the standard coolant pipes in stainless or something for the look of it but not sure how that would affect the airflow. Like the look of what you have done though.

Looks good Granty boy, interested to see how it performs at Spa, not long now, can't wait but still got to go over the car with some spanners so I don't have a repeat of last trips constant tinkering.

Grant I was thinking about doing the same, but it would be the pipe for the air box that I would leave separate as it only needs cool air, the scoop is better used for the tunnel and brakes, just with them over.

I got 3 holes with adapter in my front scoops now smile. So one for tunnel one for air box and one for brakes on each side that is. So 2 in total for hearter box. Two for tunnel

Ah OK I understand, but still same thing though, better to move the pipe for brakes the outside one where the collector on the scoop is bigger and deeper, use the inner one for the airbox, I think it will improve the airflow onto your brakes.

Btw that mesh is no good you will barely get any air going into that scoop, I cut a eliptical shape out in front of the scoop and it made a big difference to the tunnel cooling. In a way the mesh is good because you want to block too much sir from going into the wheel arch, but not into the scoop.

Have u seen the reverie video of how that mesh deflects the air, it almost fully deflects it around the car, which in fairness does help with reducing wheel arch pressure, but most air was going under and into the wheel arch anyway, hence requiring the infills.

Only reason I mention it is the results of whether it appears to work or not are greatly dependant on these factors., because there is no reason when it gets good airflow that it should not do a very good job of cooling the brakes.

Valid point. Put that side more cause the way I run it to keep it neat. The adapter bit I used all but touches the grill at the front. And I've put lot bigger mesh in now to. So we're see how it goes. Thank you mate

Ahh, if you have put a bigger mesh in from that pic then it should work, but its still better to have a close mesh and only cut out local to the scoop, this way it serves both, stops too much air going into wheel arch, but keeps good strong airflow onto brakes and tunnel.

But your right it does look neater the way u had routed it :-)

After that photo today I changed the mesh to a nice big one. Yeah seen that. And they actually block them fronts up to send the air around towards the wheel. But I won't be doing that one now obviously lol

lol your right.. i had never noticed that before, i thought it was mesh..no wonder it was diverting the air so well..

This is what i meant with regards to a cutout, it works better with the old mesh though as the old mesh blocks more air.
its just got a shroud out of thin ali plate, i think you can just make out the outline, this was before, but i have recently done similar again to allow air into the scoop and keep thick mesh around to reduce air into the wheel arch..

it can mean a 50% improvement into the scoops and a 50% reduction into the wheel arch..

Very clean layout for the ducts in deed, funkybmx. I like how you kept the brake duct away from the tire.

Would you mind showing us how you got the air into the disc. I'm toying with ideas for myself. Noble400 (Jeff) suggested a plenum that distributes air evenly into the center of the disc. I like that idea but haven't gotten to the details yet. Maybe this weekend.

I've used Ferodo DS 2500s for a few years and found them to get a little mushy after hard braking at the track until they cool down. Planning to try DS3000 in the front and 2500 in the rear to see how that combo works. I read on one of the forums that DS3000 is a bit rough on rear disc wear. What's your experience with disc wear with the 3000's?
