Still searching for the ideal rear seat cover - tried Town & Country covers (looked good but didn't fit round rear headrests & seat base).Looked at loads from USA (some that say ok for Honda Legend but not convinced and don't want hassle of having to return goods again).
Any recommendations for a good quality cover (not hammock style) to fit large saloon car but not too expensive ( £50 - £80 approx) ?

We use old blankets. Two over the back seat and two on the seat itself.....

I'm looking for a more secure solution - two over the back seat doesn't work on the Legend !

Just make sure whatever you go for that you can still use a dog car harness. Some covers stop access to the seatbelt.

We bought one from pets at home but I don't think it would be big enough for your vehicle. We just use a sheet now, even then we don't often bother but we have a whippet so not as messy smile

That's exactly why we went back to blankets... The plastic sheet we bought had the dog sliding around and it had no access point to the seatbelt for the harness.

I've used these people for a Zafira, A Class and V50.

http://climateclothing.com/MainClothing.shtml

They fitted well, except for the A class that I had to make cut outs for the seat-back latches and are velcroed between the seat base and back so that the seat belts are accessible.

Bear in mind if your ordering covers from a USA site that the US Legend may be a different car and size to the european version.

There's rear seat covers for dogs on offer in Aldi, along with car harnesses.

We're toying with the idea of just getting some cheap(ish) seat covers, rather than pet-seat-covers, IYSWIM?

Some £20 ones that can be thrown away every few months or so...

Maybe you could trial this idea and let me know how you get on? hehe

This, got given one today, although I'm going to use it in reverse if possible to cover the boot as I have no need to have dogs on the back seats (large boot). If it doesn't 'allow access to the seat belt points' I'd suggest a pair of scissors and a 4" cut will see to that!

We use one of these

Hooks around the rear headrests, can also hook around the front headrests to create a "hammock" shape so the dog can't fall into the footwell. Has 2 openings for seatbelts and a zip on one side so the dog can have a "hammock" and a passenger can sit next to him.

Works well, my only complaint is the plastic clips that secure it around the headrests are easily breakable, but it's so cheap that it really doesn't matter.

We use it along with one of these: Clix harness

This looks ok apart from it doesn't appear to cover the sides of the rear seat - this is a necessity for me as our lab tends to edge slowly to the sides before jumping down and easily marks the leather with her claws.
Thanks for all your suggestions so far anyway.

Use something like that, but got it from Kleeneazy at a bit more .Ours is a bit small as it just covers the rear seat on the Fabia. But the hammock effect stops him sliding off the seat,or getting up on the rear of the fronts.

I've got a labrador and use the harness type covers. Problem is he moves about alot in the back so has broken all the clips that go round the headrests, this then doesn't cover all the seats.
May be easier with littler dogs but he's broken 2 of them now. Both from different places. Plus side is they were only £5-£10 each.
I think we may have to make one ourselves with heavy duty straps to go around the headrests.

Problem is dog weight. Mine is large for his breed at 11kg, but being his sort of terrier he don't shed hair.He just gives out bumfluff. Mine only moves about when he spots his "prey" on the pavement -usually a Staff , or a cat.
