clutch peddle judder

when pulling away in first (or second) I'm experincing a strange judder through the clutch peddle to my foot. The clutch is new (1.5k miles)and so should be okay. any thought on what the hell it could be?

When I get odd sensations through the pedals the first check I do is...

Is the carpet bunched up in the footwell?

That's cured two or three problems so far .

if you are sure it is through the pedal, then it may be the diaphragm springs in the clutch assembly or an incorrectly aligned pressure plate.

I hope it is the carpet though !!!

does it judder when the engines hot or cold or all the time?

Did you bed the clutch in? Clutches like disc pads need a little careful running in before hard use.
Sounds like friction material build up or oil contamination.

Release bearing or pivot arm playing up. They were replaced when the clutch was done, wern't they?

Could also be a sticking hydaraulic cylinder either slave or master.

Did the engine/gear box mountings get re-fitted/tightened correctly after clutch replacement?

From your profile, mountings are approaching the 10-year point - they do get contaminated/dozy/tired ??? Slipping the clutch in second will antagonise/highlight any "loose-less" in the transmission train.

Yes was run in as had new engine at the same time, so did 2kmile at slowish speeds

All mounts were replace (engine and gearbox) when the engine was replaced.


So it looks like its back to the garage with it again
