This just in from the HDL Car Club, who operate the Loton Park hillclimb course near Shrewsbury.

They're holding a Motor Sport Festival on Saturday 20th July. This is a new event and I'm not sure what the format will be, but amongst other things you'll have a chance to be driven up the hill by an experienced competitor, for a couple of quid. This has got to be bargain of the century, it'll cost us more than that in tyres and fuel! Entry will be free but they will be collecting for charity so bring plenty of cash with you, and a change of underwear if you're going up the hill!

I'm planning to be there in the V8S, so if you want the "white knuckle" experience I'm sure we can sort something out!

If you fancy coming along, it would be appreciated if you would drop me a line so I can gauge the level of interest.

Contact dparr @ hagleyclubsec.freeserve.co.uk if you have any questions about the event itself.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

Pete,

Might well come along as I'm taking the Alfa up the hill the following day (AMOC Meeting) hopefully with Trevor (Yellow shed) Jasper. Might be a useful reminder before Sunday.

Last year we had a practice day on the Saturday and despite the weather it was a great chance to have loads of runs up the hill. I'll never forget the first time round Museum corner at the top....

Anyone else who is thinking of going I can recommend it, nice part of the world too...

I'll go along.
