Any recommendations for getting kitchen knives sharpened?

Ive got a grinding machine at work which will do it if youre happy to leave them with me. Either that or buy yourself a good sharpening stone and learn to DIY it. Its pretty easy. Have you tried any sharpeners yet?

Yeah I have a sharpener, it's ste or I am, I don't have the patience. Thanks for your kind offer, but b'mouths a bit of a journey to get some knives sharpened. But very kind of you all the same.
Was hoping for somewhere more local.

Have you tried an AnySharp its the one with a suction base that fits on any worktop. I've had mine for years and works very well every time

I've got a Kenwood electric can opener, which has a knife sharpening thing on the back. Cost about 20 quid.

It works very well for me - just turn it on, put the knife in the slot, and slowly draw it back, then repeat for the other side. Leaves all my knives razor sharp!

Can't you just got and stick them in and out of local chavs so they sharpen against the bone?
Or have the authorities stopped that too?

Have you got a local butcher, ours has sharpened ours in the past FOC.
