just been offered a mint 1995 TVR Chimp. owner states its a 4.2, will this be a modded 4.0 or has he got it wrong and its the 4.3. he doesnt know much about them and has driven it once since owning it - this is a few years now.

new clutch just installed and full service to ensure good running.

it was stored in a heated garage.

I have had numerous TVR's so know all about the chassis and electrics- I have had a more recent 5.0 albeit briefly - I am however unfamiliar with this engine. Is it an RV8?

thanks guys

People may know more than me but I believe Standard engines were 4.0, 4.3, 4.5 and 5.0.
I would suggest it is probably a 4.3, but best to check the engine number which will tell you which size it is. It should be obvious as it will have 40 or 43 in the engine number.

Unless I have my facts wrong. smile

Could it be the 4.2 V8 from the later Range Rover Classic LSE version?

having looked at the figures online the 4.3 is actually 4.2 and a bit- I presume the owner just looked at the paperwork and told me 4.2

looking at another thread I beleive mine might be one of the latest 4.3 to be built or maybe registered latest
