I'm giving some advice on DSLRs (God help us all) but I don't know Canons. Which is the first (ie cheapest) Full Frame Canon?

5D Mk III if buying new. 5D Mk II seems to work well in hands of Flat Plane if secondhand MPB have a selection around £1,300, if want really cheap 5D Mk I can be had around £600.

AFAIK Canon are doing with the 5DII what they do with the XXXDs and keeping the model going for some months after its replacement is launched but with a more market appealing official RRP.

Whether that means they are still making them or simply shifting existing buffer stock I don't know.
