I'm after some part worn tyres for track days. The sort of thing that may have lost it's edge for racing, but still be useable on my 182.

eBay seems to be a mixed experience, so does anyone know of other good outlets for things like this? Motorsport forums or the like? I'm after 15" tyres.

Cheers

For what you end up paying for them I'd recommend forgetting ebay and just buying new.

Camskill sell R888's for £108 each I was getting £90ish a pair for old tyres on the tread markers which IMO is crazy.

Don't do it. I bought this used (cut for inter) rally slick on Ebay, two laps in at Quarry Corner (Castle Combe)it split in two, blowing out, sending me spinning off. I will never buy part used tyres from Ebay again. Thankfully I missed the wall ;o))

For an Evo I'd be looking at Touring Car Spares or Pro Tyre Motorsport.

For 15s, I don't know but I'd start by calling the guy who runs Touring Car Spares and asking him.

Get friendly with your local tyre shop (eek) and they will have some good casts offs ie premium tyres close to legal limit having been replaced, things like Bridgestons/Dunlop Sport max etc. Cheap way of getting good tyres that you know are going to be ruined on track.

That's very tempting. Would need to check if they would rub or not.

Good point above about the used prices being very close to new prices too.
