TV for a friend

[Too Late]

A friend of mine has asked me help sort him out with a TV.
He has a budget of around £1100

Hes after a decent size as he sits about 3+meters away from it.
He isnt fussed by SMART tv as he has a pc plugged into his current one
Hes a fan of Samsung

I like samsung but i do love PIONEER!

So what should i recommend to him?
I havent looked at buying a tv for about 24 months so im well out of date with the current tech

2. Where is it going?
3. Define a decent size?
4. Does he have an idea of what size he would like (not you)?
5. What does he watch?

I sit 3+metres away from my 32" Panasonic which is fine for me and a bigger TV would look wrong in the room as I don't live in social housing.

I didn't think Pioneer made TVs any more. A salesman told me that Panasonic (I think) bought the Pioneer TV division...
