V22 Osprey just flown over Teddington area
Discussion
An Osprey just flew right over the Teddington area - presumably it has just come from Farnborough or have we drafted in the USMC to help us out with the Olympics now...?
Fantastic beast...managed to get a ride in one a couple of years ago.
Very strange sensation of going up then going forward very quickly and struggling to stay upright (sat along the sides of the fuselage as you would in a chinook)- found myself looking at the open ramp at the back and thanking my lucky stars for the lapbelt...

I was looking to see if there was a thread about this, as I saw one fly over Ashford, Kent around 11am today.
I'd just woken up and was laid in bed looking out the window, when I heard a jet flying quite low. Then this 'thing' appeared behind the opposite house, and in my sleep-befuddled state, I could not for the life of me figure it out at first.
Due to the fact it has huge propellers compared to the size of the fuselage, I thought it was a Lancaster in a tight turn, then a Boeing Stearman Wingwalking varient, (not sure why I thought that!) but the jet noise confused the hell out of me. After a second or two of confusion, I got to the window and just as it disappeared behind some trees I realised it was a V-22.
Never seen one before, wonder why it was over my way?
