Sun out here too - should be dry tomorrow. Ahh I remember those days working on the car in the pissing rain.

Why not buy a gazebo? A pop-up one is self-supporting and only takes about 10 mins to pop up.

Absolutely marvellous weather here in Nottingham today smile

I managed to get the car out on the drive to give it a clean after the fest and then got collared by SWMBO to go to the shops frown
The up side was I convinced her that we should go in the wedge smile

& for the first time since I bought it, she agreed smile

Then after shopping I turned left out of the shops, instead of right, and ten miles later wound up at a nice little country pub drink

SWMBO was quite impressed too, so it turned into a pretty damn good day and drive out after all!

Marcus,

Nottingham is great :-) both for night's out as well as places to visit!
Maid Marion way has a couple of oldish pubs on it, however the oldest pub in the world is just off of Maid Marion way, built into the cliff under the castle, the Trip to Jerusalem!
Dating back to 1198AD and is a very cool place to go for a beer.

My missus can't drive my car, not because it also, same as yours, doesn't have power steering, but because she hasn't got a license :-(

Means I always have to drive, no matter where we go, unless I take my 23 year old son with me, and he really, really wants to drive the car any chance he gets!
Other than on a private road, there's no chance he's driving it, apart from the fact that I can't get him insured on it, I'm sure he'd put it in a ditch, something I'm keen to avoid!

Enjoy the great weather today

Mark - is it your wedge I spotted at Paramount garage in Mansfield Woodhouse?
I'm putting my wedge back on the road, and was amazed to see another one in the area!

Afraid not!
Which is good really, as it means there's another wedge in our area smile
I was out at the Hutt (opposite Newstead Abbey) for a drink in the sun on Saturday, very nice it was too smile

I'm based in Woodthorpe, so if you need any help (such as I can offer) drop me a PM on here and we'll sort out about getting together somewhere to compare notes, trials and tribulations, etc.

Ziga, hmmmmmm.......... Jobs indeed, my next one is to put in a new stereo.
I've managed to get hold of a Sony stereo and CD changer, which is a bit better than the Halfrauds one that I put in there for the fest.
Before anyone starts, I know everyone says you don't need a stereo and that I should be just listening to the sound of the engine, but on a long drive I like having some sounds to reminisce and enhance the overall experience smile

Shades on, sounds on and the glorious sound of a V8 burbling along in the background cool doesn't get much better!

As said before on here the only music you need is the sound of your wedge..I have a stereo but i havent bothered fitting it, I wouldnt be able to hear it anyway...hehe

Mind you i have just ordered a new type 2"ID fuel hose that is silicone on the outside and has a nitrile inner with a membrane layer, Its not cheap but i think its the only way im going to stop this on going fuel leak where the filler neck meets the collar on the tank..A lot of the hose with a steel helix just doesnt clamp down tight enough!..I will keep you posted as its a job you dont want to do twice let alone 4 or 5 times like me..I have also fitted a alloy screw type fuel filler cap and neck and have made a gasket out of 1.5mm nitrile mat as it never came with a gasket?...

Amazing, I live 5 mins (if that) from Newstead Abbey gates!
How amazing then - that means there's three wedges in the area.

Hope this isn't too cheeky, but this is the other wedge I spotted. You can see how I thought it was yours!

I'm sure we'll hook up at some point!

Hi Bob

That's marvellous news!

3 of us within about a 10 mile radius smile

Every first and third Wednesday of each month there's a get together in the field behind Papplewick pumping station which one of my neighbours goes to, he's got a TR6 frown and he says if the weather's good, there's normally a pretty good turn out, a couple of hundred cars of all types, etc.

I'll be speaking with him over the next few days and if we can sort out getting over there, if the weather's alright, then I'll definitely be heading out there and will let you know where, etc. a bit nearer the time.

I'll let you know next time I'm having a run out to the Hutt, as it's a nice run up the road, if there's no traffic and maybe we could meet up there?

It's amazing how similar that car is to mine, even the same colour wheels, only thing different is mines an "E" reg one and that's a "B"
You're definitely forgiven for thinking it may be mine hehe

Cheers for now
Mark
