Firstly, the video does not show the true FPS speed this thing now moves at on higher spec PC's.Max everything with FXAA, CSAA and Aniso and it runs bonkers fast and plays like a dream.I fired it up just to test the new (to me) SLi cards and it's a joy to play.I tried to grab what it looked like and upload, but it seems to run at half the speed frown It mostly sat at 90 to 100 fps when playing and the vid shows what seems to be a very console like 30ish.I also had to drop the res from 1920x1080 to 720 as the file was rather large otherwise and it's also compressed quality wise.

Anyway, as car racers go, this is still my fave blast if you fancy racing in the rain. The latest Project CARS build has spray effects now implemented, but it doesn't rain just yet.If anyone has forgotten all about this game and is now running a decent PC, I urge you to fire it up again, play with the car filters to mix up the pack and go for a blast! I know things have moved on in terms of graphics, but it's still great fun.

I raced in helmet view btw, but removed the helmet image for a better view (plus you can see more raindrops running around the screen)

Never liked Race 07, always seemed like a step down from GTR2 and GT Legends. However, the Audi R8 was good fun!

I just picked it up in the steam sale for £8. Will be giving it a blast tonight.

I got the bog standard Race 07 for dirt cheap on steam a few weeks back to give it a go but honestly I prefer rFactor.

I have them all installed but rarely boot them up.. I don't like how the cockpit moves with g-forces that you can't turn off.

There is a cockpit camera movement adjustment in the options, is that what you mean?

Nope, that does some of it, but there's still a basic movement that you can't stop. ProjectCARS has it too. Annoying.

The way I see it is that I'm holding a wheel, but watching a dashboard/screen move around... not exactly immersive. Might work if I was using a control pad, but with a steering wheel I am pretending to be inside the cockpit.. if I'm not moving, the dash shouldn't be!

Many rFactor mods have this effect in spades too, some open wheelers are extremely jarring in cockpit view.

in rfactor you can turn it off by editing your plr file. smile
