Completed: One of those Gundam robot things from Japan.
Discussion
Hi,
I thought I'd have a break from cars (a short break to be honest) and try a few other things, the
first of which is one of those Robot things from Japan which they love so much. It turned out exactly as I'd imagined it when I picked the box from the shelf. The weathering makes it look both metal and heavy, despite it being only about 120mm tall. It has more moveable joints than any other Gundam I've looked at so far too. The traditional colour for this is supposed to be two shades of green, but I decided to use flat primer yellow for the most part, inspired by the ABC war robot from Judge Dredd.

Wow, it was only when I saw your last couple of photos that I realised that this was a kit! Not seen one of these before so had assumed it was a pre-made 'doll'.
I think the metalic 'weathering' that you've done is spot on and in just the right places.
Just one thing- I would wash the gun/weapon with a slightly diluted Tamiya Smoke to bring out it's detail a bit more.

I see a lot of these on the figure modelling forum I'm on (at www.e2046.com) and frankly they're not really my thing. This is a much better build than you'll see on there though, as they very rarely bother with weathering.
Looks good - if you're impressed by the detail/articulation, a "Master Grade" would be well worth a go. There's "Perfect Grade" beyond that, but they're ridiculously priced (and a little large).
Don't have any pics of my Gundam kits, but here's a few photos of the last mecha kit I completed (it's a 1/144 scale robot from the anime series Kurogane no Linebarrel).

Well, gosh. I had no idea! Hope you enjoy it!
I confess I thought it would go for more than that, but I don't feel so bad now that I know a PHer bought it.
Nor did I till I saw your post which matched the fleabay description! Was a random purchase too - can't even remember why I was looking on fleabay for them. Will see if it gets built ....I confess I thought it would go for more than that, but I don't feel so bad now that I know a PHer bought it.
