LG 26LC55 fault

Hoping someone can offer some advice.
My LG TV has started to play up. Intermittently, when selecting a different input the screen either goes blank, or less frequently, white, with black zig-zag lines.
It then will not repond to any buttons on either the remote, of actual buttons on the tv itself. Pulling the power and reconnecting resolves the issue.
TV is about 5 - 6 years old, so not sure if it's worth throwing any money at. Would be happy to try a DIY repair, but have zero idea where to start, so appreciate this my not be a sensible idea.
