Ex Indy car light restoration

Anyone any idea on likely costs of lightly renovating an eighties Indy car in need of an engine?
Was considering what looked like a well priced car in the UK only to discover similar at half the price in the US..

Without seeing the car, that's very much a "how long is a piece of string?" question.

engine will be the biggest expense, and the problem of finding one......

If you want to race it or even expect to be invited to events to demo it, you'll have to spend a lot more than if you want to restore it ss a museum piece. As you know, all components will be lifed and the tub would have to be crack tested for you to obtain the relevant papers.

My advice is to talk to one of the historic race preparation guys such as Simon Hadfield for an idea of tha amount of work required to do what you want.
