You often hear people give off the cuff comments on how motorsport will pan out in years to come, whether it is the new engines in F1, the way GT racing will looking in 5 years or which driver will come out as the next Senna. Most people have a little feeling of the future, whether its well informed or just a hunch.

Whats yours?

I think Maserati will comeback into sportscars, GTs that is. From the info of new Gransport, Im expecting to see a GT3 and a GTE car (the last one is a bit of a fingers crossed one).

Also Grosjean will take a F1 championship in the next 5 years if he can stay in a car as competetive at the current Lotus Renault.

I pass the crystal ball to you...

I think that Hamilton won't win another championship.

Perez, however will win a few.

I may be completely and utterly off the mark but he seems more likely to release a record than mount a title challenge in the next 5 years, although who knows McLaren might knock out a revolutionary car next season and Lewis dominate like Vettel has in the past.

Completely agree with you on Perez, I would definitely stick money on him winning a title once he gets in a Ferrari. Any bookies let you bet on this sort of stuff - like odds on Perez winning a title in the next 5 years?

I'd imagine most online bookies would give you odds but you'd probably need to contact them to get them to list it.

I can see Hamilton winning another one within 5 years. I can see Alonso and Vettel winning another one as well, maybe even two. The engine shakeup next season will be interesting as someone could create something with 30 more HP and a good dollop more torque and waltz away with it.

Mercedes Benz will leave F1, Honda will return.

Manufacturers will come back to Le Mans after 2014.

Lewis H will make a dreadful career choice and live to regret it.

The FIA once Bernie has gone will restore the WRC and GT racing to the top of the agenda

More drivers to move between championships within 5 years.

Sponsorships will be tailored for TV and may even change on the cars on a race by race pay as you go deal.

A demographic change of circuit venues to the US and South America and away from Asia.

More sports to look at city centre events, possibly as showcases or displays not races.

And sadly I believe tragedy ahead for a well known driver or rider within the next four years.

This is more of a wish list for me than genuine expectation

I reckon Le Mans with Audi. smile

Mclaren to never win another championship - driver or contructor.
I think that's a bit extreme. Maybe not this year or next...but...

WEC to fall on its arse.
I predict it to follow WTCC. Exactly the same pattern.
Gaz. said:
Maldonado to cause a fatal incident.
agree. One can only hope that it doesn't affect/involve anyone else. Not to say I wish bad upon Mal, but I just hope it doesn't spread wider than the culprit.
Gaz. said:
Marquez to be multiple MotoGP champion.
no idea. I don't follow MotoGP.

The Enstone F1 team to win another WCC/WDC double.
Quite possible either next year or in the new regs era.

Maldonado has done some stupid things, but nothing has been even close to that severe. It has all been low speed stuff. Even that piss stupid barge on Hamilton at Spa was on a cruise back to the pits.

he's a bit of a d!ck head, but I think it is a bit melodramatic to say it will come to that.

Try telling that the the paralysed Marshal from Monaco in 2005.

Maldonado hasn't and doesn't learn from his mistakes.
