Nottingham for a day...
Discussion
I'm flying into Notts on Friday for a job interview at 2pm, however I arrive at 8.00 and don't leave again till 17.30.
So what can be done to pass time in the city?
I can of course spend some time in coffee shops/the pub afterwards and it's been suggested that I take a good book to market square.
What else is there to do, especially if it's raining?
P.S. I'm on a tight budget (hence the job interview).

Take a look round Nottingham Castle, it's £5.50 to non-city residents I think.
Have a pint at Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem - the oldest inn in England. That's near the castle too.
There are some interesting tea rooms and coffee shops about. If you go to Waterstones you can pick up any book without buying and take it to their coffee shop for a read, nobody says anything about it.
Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery is free of charge and is worth a muse.
There are also places such as Galleries of Justice & Museum of Nottingham Life, however they do charge for admission.

Get a taxi to Grey Paul and have a look round.
It's very close to city centre - probably cost £10 there and back.
Beats looking at some old bricks and drinking in some gloomy old pub!

I'd second the Graypaul idea as this is a car site after all.
Taxi to there from the airport, then maybe walk around the corner to Sytner BMW, and Nottingham Porsche.
Is the interview in the city centre?
The Art Gallery is a bit hit and miss depending who the featured artists are, it's been a bit pants the 2 times I've been.
The other 'tourist' things in the city aren't bad but they aren't really the thing I'd be doing as a single bloke.
