Question for the aviation people re bomber command stuff.

Been going through stuff at my late grandfather's house and I've found bits of his training manuals from WW2. Are these likely to be valuable? There are training notes but also the bound checklist he had to take on flights with him. Various photos of his crew stood by their Lancaster, and even his medal ribbons.

He never talked about his service, just signed up because he thought it was necessary, even though he was in a reserved occupation so didn't have to go. But I'm guessing that some people or museums might be interested in seeing the stuff?

I wouldn't say it has any inherent monetary value although museums or historians might be keen to look at it for the information contained within.

If you know what Squadron he served with, try contacting their association if they have one.

Certainly don't bin it.

Whilst it won't have money value, it will definitely have historical interest I would think.

Yep - you can find out more by Googling the serial number near the tail, eg 'Lancaster 'ED547' and see what there is.

Try giving a call to any local air museums. Sure they'd be happy to help & would help you find home for it.
