I had a little prang a few weeks ago, the bonnet took a battering and I needed a new one. I got one secondhand from eBay, a relative bargain compared to a new one at many times the cost.

Problem is, the damned bonnet catches and release will simply not frigging align with where they're meant to go. There is no adjustment left in either the bonnet or the catches.

So anyway, trawling some BMW forums, I found a thread where a guy put Aerocatch bonnet pins on his M3, I really liked what he'd done. So, silver E46 Touring: black Aerocatch bonnet pins, chavtastic or fantastic?

Actually, I've decided I'm going to do it anyway, chavtastic or not. smile

Won't an insecure bonnet have insurance implications? i.e. easy for some scrote to get in and disconnect (or nick) the battery and disable the alarm etc.

And yes, we need photos biggrin

What you could do though to make it look really ace is stick some yellow SPAX stickers down the wing too, yes?

They have a lockable version, that's the one I'm getting.

nono Remember the colour-clash rhyming aid memoire: Silver and yellow, you're twisting my mellow.
