Its a fair review to go with a clockwork engine.

Why is it clockwork? It was based on a 1961 engine design- and you are worried about the electronics not being up to date?- but we still love 'em. smile

i cant be arsed to read the whole write up!, but there is no question that quite frankly any after market system is going to be an improvement, BUT and the BIG BUT is you need someone that knows how to set them up, i have seen many after market systems now that on the ignition side of things the mapping is just shocking!!, to the extent the engine would make more power and be more efficient with a dizzy, the fueling may be spot on as far as an afr gauge will tell you but i just dont get why the ignition is left as base map

BHP output per litre for modern engines today has not changed much either. A 1965, 1000cc Mini Cooper could be race tuned to give 100bhp on good old Webber carburettors. A standard new RS3 engine today gives 430bhp from 6.2 litres. For a 1950's engine, the RV8 is still doing b...dy well today ! despite all the questionable add on electronics since the 1970s
