Hi ,
My about 2 year old sky hd digibox is playing up , every couple of hours it give me a blue screen and won't change channels or such like .
Switching it off for a few minutes works but longer term this isnt really much use

Is my box in the death throws and is it time to upgrade to a new 1tb box ?

Thanks

Where do you keep it? Under the TV with a DVD player, Xbox etc? If so it is overheating.

Have you unplugged it from the wall and then rebooted it?

It's on a stand with no other electrics near it so doubt it it's heat related

Yeah I cut the power completely then boot it back up after 3/4 mins and it comes back on no bother

I had an out of warranty re-install (box, dish, lnb, cables) FOC by mentioning the V word.

I can certainly vouch for the power of the v word. Same issue. Faulty box out of warranty. They will resolve. When you call don't mention the problem. Just get to the cancellation department. They will ask why. Say my box is faulty. And it isn't hd. Virgin are offering me brand new hd box free install. You may be pleasantly surprised!!
And yeah. Virgin don't cover my area either !

Just tell them you are cancelling as the box is broken. They will bend over backwards to repair FOC.

Yep, cancellation threat has also been used to get 1/2 price sky for the past 2 years. Hopefully they will cave in again in November smile or it's back to Freesat frown

Called sky yesterday to update my details prior to getting a engineer out and since I had moved home I was entitled to a home visit from a engineer FOC to check my set up which is all good
No need for V threats ! after all
