Are you going to Silverstone this weekend in your TVR?

I’ve managed to get Silverstone Circuit Management to formally agree to provide an on course parking facility for TVR’s.

Silverstone Circuit Management will again provide a space for us to park at the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand. This has been arranged with them for Saturday and Sunday. They may or may not provide a wire fence around the area!!!

However, last year when parked, I was surprised by the number of other TVR owners, who walked past and said they didn’t realise they could park ‘on course’ and had to park in the fields. The problem is that some of the Car Park Attendants were not informed of the arrangement and directed TVR’s to the Public Car Parks. If you have a problem, please say that an arrangement has been made with Silverstone Circuit Management to park at the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand.

Silverstone say that their problem in the past is with the ‘Policing’ of this arrangement and would ideally like to issue special passes, but don’t know how to implement such a scheme (It all got complicated from thereon). They stipulate that the arrangement is exclusive for TVR cars only (preferably TVRCC members) and specifically want those attending to ensure that this is adhered to. In other words they want us to ‘Police’ the arrangement!!!

Ideally you should get there early and head for the Main Entrance Gate (don’t get waved-in to other areas by well meaning Policemen). When you get to the Main Entrance Gate let the Car Park Attendant know that you are going to park with the other TVRs at the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand. Go through the gate, turn left, past Woodcote and then on to the back of the Pit Straight Grandstand. If you don’t have a TVR (and paid for an entrance ticket) you won’t get in!!!

See you there…good luck!!!

There is the S series meet at Silverstone TVR this weekend so I reckon there may be quite a few TVRs turning up.

Well done for being proactive. I spoke to Silverstone TVR about a TVR area and they said there wasn't enough interest shown early enough. Sounds familiar.
The S Club event is at Silverstone TVR on the Sunday so not sure how many will be watching the racing.
Can TVR support vehicles park in there - may bring if the weather stays like this?
Is there any arrangement for the campers? i know there are 3 of us - Me and Mrs FFG, Andy Holden (griff2be) and Claire (racegirl)

Good news. Thanks for that.

Will be there on Saturday in the Chimaera along with a mate in a Tuscan.

Presume we can just pay at the main gate?

Cheers
Tommo

Well I won't be arriving in a TVR, although my truck does have TVR stickers on it.

I am hoping that the camping will be on the infield and thus relatively close to the showers etc in the paddock.

The TVR only parking is on the outside of the circuit and, assuming the camping is where I think/hope - its a hell of a long way to lug your camping equipment over the footbridge, through the paddock etc etc...

Any TVR owners(and prospective TVR owners!) are more than welcome to park round by us on Saturday and Sunday, refreshments will also be available on Sunday.

Does that include those of us who'd like you to sponsor us next year
